Tutor Terms and Conditions for Parents attending the Ace Education Ilford Study Centre

  1. Agreement

The tutor shall supply the Parent and Student with all classwork and homework matherials necessary to support their child in exchange for the fees as set out in Clauses 2 and 3. This will not exclusively, include additional workbooks which are the responsibility of the parent to obtain.

2. Registration

a) The registration fee of £25.00 will be payable.

b) The parent shall read the Privacy notice sent prior to starting. This will allow the Tutor to share the Student’s information with staff to create a tailored programme.

3. Fees

a) The Parent shall pay a monthly fee of £60 per subject per student in advance of a month of study or £100 for two subjects.

b) The Tutor reserves the right to increase its standard monthly fee, provided that:

i) The charges are not increased more than once over a 12 month period; and

ii) The Tutor gives the parent 3 months’ written notice of the change.

4. Study

a) In the Centre

i) The Student shall arrive at the centre on time;

ii) The Student shall complete their work in a manner which does not affect the work of other students;

iii) The Parent shall not enter the Study Centre during class hours unless instructed to by an assistant or Tutor;

iv) The Parent shall wait for the Student to complete their work in the designated waiting area; or

The Parent shall arrange with the Tutor how the Student is to arrive and leave the Centre and with whom (if appropriate).

v) Covid 19 During the lockdown periods, and at any other times specified by the Government if the study centre is not allowed to open then classes will be online for all student, at the normal times and days. Work will be delivered or posted to cover the period of closure at no additional cost. There will be no reduction in fees.

b) At home

i) The Student shall continue to time and complete the worksheets as appropriately allocated to them by the Tutor on a daily basis;

ii) The Parent shall mark all work completed at home and ensure the Student corrects any work as necessary. The Parent shall check all corrections, as necessary. The Parent will also listen daily to the Student reading from the English worksheets, as instructed to do so by the Tutor.

c) Missing work

i) If the Student fails to attend class regularly without notice or returns incomplete work, the Tutor reserves the right to ask the parent to withdraw from the centre.

ii) If the Student fails to attend class regularly without notice or returns incomplete work, the Tutor reserves the right to re-enrol the student at any time in the future. This would make any registration fee and deposit payable where appropriate;

iii) If the Student is unable to attend class for any reason (due to illness etc.), the Parent shall inform the Tutor as soon as reasonably possible.

d) Holidays

i) If going on holiday, in order to avoid falling behind and to continue the daily study habit, the Parent may request less daily work than usual, revision of previous topics or work to be set as usual. Whenever possible, the Parent shall give the Tutor a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice of any holiday so the Tutor can prepare suitable work for the Student to complete during the holiday. The Tutor shall provide Holiday Forms to all parents to help support communication.5. Discontinuation

a) If the Parent wishes for their Student to discontinue tuition:

i) The Parent will give the Tutor a minimum of one calendar months’ notice, ending on 27th of the month;

ii) The Parent will pay all fees applicable up to and including the discontinuation date;

iii) The Parent will attend an exit interview with the Tutor

b) The Tutor may discontinue the Student for:

i) Non-payment of fees

ii) Persistent and continuous disruptive behaviour of the Student or Parent during class time or outside of class time.

iii) A Student/Parent not completing their work/marking respectively/attending the centre on a regular basis.

c) The Tutor will take reasonable steps towards ensuring that the obligations under 5. b) above are complied with before discontinuing the Student.

d) In cases when the Student is studying more than one subject, the Tutor reserves the right to discontinue a Student in one subject if they feel the Student is struggling in one subject more than another. The Tutor shall not do so without taking reasonable steps towards rectifying the situation should it arise.
